Terms of use
The terms of the trail.
The essentials about using Outpost, choosing a plan, and what to expect from it.
1. About these terms
These terms cover the Outpost app for iPhone and this website. Outpost is a personal tool for tracking alcohol-free days, outposts, estimated savings and field notes. Outpost is provided by Greg Keegan (“we”, “us”), who you can reach at support@outpostsober.app.
2. Not medical advice
Outpost doesn’t offer medical advice, diagnosis, treatment or emergency support. The Guidebook is general information, and the tracking tools are for personal reflection. They are not a substitute for a qualified healthcare professional. Don’t rely on the app to decide whether or how to stop drinking, to manage withdrawal, or to delay getting medical care. If you drink heavily, stopping suddenly can be dangerous: talk to a doctor. No health or sobriety outcome is promised. If you need help now, see Get help.
3. Monthly, yearly and lifetime plans
Outpost Pro is offered as a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription and a one-time lifetime purchase. The price, currency, taxes and billing terms shown in the App Store when you buy are the ones that apply.
- Monthly: recurring access billed each month.
- Yearly: recurring access billed each year.
- Lifetime: a one-time purchase that gives access for as long as the Outpost app is offered. “Lifetime” means the lifetime of the app, not of the purchaser. It is not a subscription.
Device and iOS compatibility may change over time. Nothing here removes rights you have under consumer law if the app is discontinued or doesn’t match what you paid for.
4. Free trials
Monthly and yearly plans may start with a free trial, shown before you confirm with its length and the date of the first payment. When a trial ends it becomes a paid subscription at the displayed price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
5. Billing, renewal, cancellation and refunds
Apple takes payment through your Apple Account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled. Cancel in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions; deleting Outpost does not cancel a subscription. Cancelling stops future renewals, and access continues to the end of the period you paid for.
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under its rules and applicable law. Nothing in these terms excludes a statutory right to cancel or be refunded.
Apple: cancel a subscription · Apple: request a refund
6. Your data and your device
Your records live on your device, and Outpost doesn’t keep a copy. You’re responsible for access to your device and any backups you choose to keep. Losing the device, erasing the app’s data or deleting the app can lose your records, and we can’t restore a copy we never held. See the Privacy Policy.
7. Using Outpost
Use Outpost lawfully and don’t interfere with how it works or infringe anyone’s rights. The app’s software, name, artwork and original writing belong to their owners. You keep your rights in the notes you write.
Your licence to the app is also governed by Apple’s Standard EULA unless a custom licence is provided.
8. Changes and availability
Outpost may be updated, changed or, one day, discontinued. We don’t promise uninterrupted service or indefinite compatibility. Changes won’t take away purchased entitlements or rights the law protects. Material changes to these terms will carry a new date and, where required, a notice.
9. Governing law and your legal rights
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK or in another country, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws where you live and can bring proceedings there.
Nothing in these terms limits liability or rights that can’t lawfully be limited, including mandatory consumer protections.
