Check-ins and the count

How does the day count work?

It counts calendar days from your start date through today, and today counts. A start date of today is day one. It moves at midnight on your phone’s clock. Checking in records how the day went; it doesn’t change the count.

When can I check in?

From 7 pm, Home asks “Did you drink today?” until you answer. Earlier in the day, tap Check in under the count. To change an answer, tap Change answer or press and hold the count. To clear a check-in, open the Route tab and look under the outposts.

I set the wrong start date.

Go to Settings → Your streak → Start date. Correcting it doesn’t count as a slip and never lowers your longest streak.

What happens if I answer Yes?

Your streak starts again from today. Your longest streak, your total days on the trail, your money saved and any locations you’ve earned all stay.

Reminders and notes

I’m not getting reminders.

Check Settings → Reminders → Daily check-in in Outpost, then iOS Settings → Notifications → Outpost. If notifications were declined, Outpost’s switch shows Open Settings to take you there. A reminder is skipped on days you’ve already checked in.

How do I turn off the morning notes?

Turn off Encouragement in Settings → Reminders. The morning note, the evening before an outpost and the Sunday recap all stop.

Subscriptions

How do I restore a purchase?

Open Settings → Subscribe and tap Restore purchases. You’ll need to be signed in to the App Store with the Apple Account you bought with. There’s no Outpost account to sign in to.

How do I cancel?

On your iPhone, go to Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Outpost. With Outpost Pro active, Settings → Manage subscription in the app goes to the same place. Deleting the app doesn’t cancel. Apple’s instructions.

Can I get a refund?

Apple handles refunds for App Store purchases. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Your data

I’m moving to a new iPhone.

Outpost’s records travel with your iPhone backup, or with Apple’s transfer when you set up the new phone. Outpost doesn’t keep a copy on a server, so it can’t restore one. Then tap Restore purchases on the new phone.

How do I erase everything?

Settings → Erase all data, at the foot of Settings. It removes your streaks, check-ins, notes, custom reasons and spending estimate from the phone. It can’t be undone.

Is anything sent anywhere?

Your records aren’t. Purchases go through Apple and are checked by RevenueCat with an anonymous id. The Privacy Policy has the detail.

If today is hard

Outpost is a tracker, not treatment. If you need someone now, free helplines are here, and the same list is in the app under Settings → Support → Get help now.
